AgustaWestland has been racking up the orders too at Houston's Heli-Expo.

February 23: AgustaWestland has been racking up the orders too, just as Eurocopter and Sikorsky have seen significant deals being announced.

The Era Group is to buy ten AW139 medium twin helicopters for offshore transport and pipeline surveillance missions in the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil. It already has a large Aw139 fleet, and Giuseppe Orsi, Chief Executive Officer of AgustaWestland said “It gives us great pleasure that Era’s decision to purchase will mark significant growth and commitment to one of the largest AW139 fleets, making it central in the service one of the world’s leading offshore oil & gas specialists.”

The FAASA Group of Spain has just taken delivery of an additional four AW119Ke helicopters for fire-fighting missions, bringing its number in service to 20, making it one of the largest operators of this model in the world. FAASA operates throughout Spain, particularly in the Andalucia and Castilla y León regions and provided a major contribution to the 2009 fire-fighting season in Spain deploying up to 16 helicopters.

One AW109 Power helicopter has been ordered by the Kaigai Aviotech Corporation for VIP transport, to be delivered in 2012. Businessman and pilot Scott Kasprowicz has ordered a new ‘Grand New’ helicopter - Kasprowicz and Steve Sheik set a new world speed record in 2008 in an AgustaWestland Grand helicopter, flying around the world in only eleven days, seven hours and five minutes, breaking the old record by almost six days.
